Urban Zen Integrative Therapy

Urban Zen Integrative Therapy (UZIT) is an integrated mind-body approach to holistic care combining yoga therapy - simple in-chair or supine movements to help relax and also energize the body, restorative postures to support recuperation, breath awareness and guided body-awareness meditation to facilitate mindfulness - therapeutic grade essential oils, Reiki, and contemplative care.  UZIT sessions help circulation, respiration, digestion, mobilization, and cultivate awareness and calm.  The treatment specifically addresses symptoms including pain, anxiety, nausea, insomnia, constipation, exhaustion, and sadness (PANIC)™.  Treatment is tailored to specific needs and serves those experiencing a variety of conditions including injury, cancer, PTSD, ADHD, Alzheimers, dementia, migraines etc.  UZIT is also an effective way to alleviate stress, receive a little extra TLC, and maintain good health.

Keely Rakushin Garfield is a senior Urban Zen Integrative Therapist (UZIT), and serves as faculty for UZIT trainings, as well as being Reiki Master for New York area trainings.  Keely  has been a clinical coordinator for the program at The Farber Center for Radiation Oncology, Beth Israel Medical Center, PACC, and CareRite, and led two trips to Haiti working at St. Damien Pediatric Hospital and Orphanage. Her commitment to UZIT is complemented by her service as a Reiki Master, leading Sitting with Dying workshops for Visiting Nurse Service New York (VNSNY), and her experience as a hospice caregiver.  As Director of Trainings for Maripossa  Wellness, Keely develops and leads customized, innovative training clinics, workshops and self-care programs.  Keely is a native of London, England and maintains a private integrative therapy practice in New York.

Keely is infectious, intuitive, and informed. Her skills as a leader and her desire to serve the world make her the most sought after teacher of healing arts.
